Sara Blanchard, 6th Grade Teacher
Sara Blanchard is in her eleventh year of teaching science and math at the middle and high school levels. Her focus in the classroom is on developing lasting skills such as making good observations and asking provocative questions. She feels that students learn best when new information builds upon prior knowledge or experiences. In addition to her work in the classroom, she spends many afternoons and weekends coaching soccer, softball, and outdoor education. She has taken students on trips around the world, including backpacking in the Pyrenees mountains, hiking through the temperate rainforests in the northwest US, and canoeing along the Rio Grande river on the US-Mexican border. Sara brings a wealth of knowledge about ecology, conservation and outdoor exploration to our summer program.

Suzanne McAllister, 5th Grade Teacher
Suzanne McAllister is in her ninth year of teaching at the elementary level, and her fourth at the Munich International School. At MIS, she coaches the varsity softball team, and has also worked with the junior varsity soccer program. She is currently a Master's candidate at Lehigh University, pursuing a degree in Educational Leadership. Before coming to Germany, Ms. McAllister taught in public elementary schools in the United States. She holds a degree in Environmental Studies, and is an avid soccer player, hiker and marathon runner. She believes in hands-on learning, and transforms her classroom sessions into challenging explorations with real world implications.
